Jeepers!!! Daphne Does It Again!!!

Once again, a life size cutout of Daphne Blake lifts her skirt at Bergamot Station.

Last year, while visiting the art galleries at Bergamot Station, I saw a cutout of Daphne Blake, from the Scooby Doo cartoon series, provocatively posed with her skirt lifted. I blogged about it back then, writing a post that has interestingly high page views.

Well, I recently returned to see some shows. When I got to the northeast corner, I got a view of the new Daphne cutout. Yeah, the classic attire has been modified, but it should entertain all you folks that come by looking for risque images of Daphne. ;-)

Now, when are we gonna get some cutouts of Velma?

Enjoy!!!

Jinkies!!! Daphne Displays Her Drawers!!!

Daphne Blake exhibits her underclothes at Bergamot Station

I paid a quick visit to Bergamot Station in Santa Monica today. I wanted to check out a few galleries. I wasn't expecting to see this. ;-)

I have no clue as to why Daphne was there. I have no idea why somebody decided to have her show off her panties. But it's weirdness like this that makes visiting the West Side of Los Angeles always an interesting experience.

So, what do you think belongs in the thought balloon? Hmm. . .

Enjoy!!!

Save Us, Erin Esurance!!!

A few years back, the auto insurance company, Esurance, had a promotional campaign centered around the animated exploits of a pink haired spy girl, Erin Esurance. Honestly, it was kind of stupid. Why was this "sexy" special agent running from nefarious criminals and killer robots while extolling the virtues of an on-line car insurance company? It made no sense, but at least it had fun mindless action and an animated cutie.

Eventually, the whole spy chase style got played out. Erin started playing in killer robot hockey games and daydreaming about baseball. Worse, she started escorting "average people" into Esurance cartoon land. What started out as incoherent action eye candy turned into just incoherent.

Clearly, something needed to change. Sadly, as bad as the later Erin Esurance ads were, the change was worse.

Dark Angel

Bettie Page

Bettie Page was born on April 22, 1923. In the 1950s, her iconic photos earned her the title of "Queen of Pinups." Many gorgeous women have since graced the centerfolds and pages of erotic magazines, but Bettie is still the Queen for me.

She wasn't the prettiest lady of her era. However, the combination of beauty and personality made for an enthralling and compelling effect. There is a sexy playfulness to her pose. Her facial expressions are inviting and vivacious. Most of all, she's bold, but without being brash. It all seems to come naturally to her. This spirit is expressed by the quote:

"I was not trying to be shocking, or to be a pioneer. I wasn't trying to change society, or to be ahead of my time. I didn't think of myself as liberated, and I don`t believe that I did anything important. I was just myself. I didn't know any other way to be, or any other way to live."
That's why Bettie was special. In erotic depictions, there were countless women who preceded her and there have been and will be countless women following, but Bettie Page remains as an unforgettable icon of female sexuality.

Here's a cute vid of her dancing. (Don't worry. There's no nudity.)

Umm, Okey Dokey???

(Painting by Simone Legno)

I came across this painting at the Lebasse Projects in a show called "SugiPOP!: The Influence of Anime and Manga." It was an interesting exhibit with a wide variety of memorable images. Some haunting, some humorous, and some erotic.

The image above stuck with me after leaving the show. For me, it hit all three of the emotions mentioned above. I feel a bit dirty looking at it. :-)

That Girl So Scandalous

(Photo NOT of Ms. Hamper)

An Ohio TV anchor tried to write off  $167,356 from her taxes in beauty supplies, clothing, and other aestetic/cosmetic accessories and enhancements. Including thongs!!! Money quote:

"She claimed they were all essential to her job, because after all, you can only trust the word of someone who is pretty. Also, outside beauty is only part of the picture; it really matters whether she feels pretty and sexy, which is, we guess, where the thongs come in."

The court disagreed with her premise. ;-)

I can't pass up the opportunity for a joke:

Q- What do barbed wire and thongs have in common?

A- Both protect the property, but neither obstruct the view.
